and I just want to thank you all again for a great start to the year our enrollment like I was saying we have 66 students at this point we're looking forward to a library tour with the city of Germantown library on Saturday in addition to that mark your calendars for September 7th because we are going to have a build your own ice cream sundae were right here at district office and so we are looking forward to celebrating September in fact summer is going to be all about service and so that's going to be one of the common theme that were talking about for the month of September August is been attitude is everything and I think we had a great time talking about attitude I want to point out a huge successes that I am extremely proud of our students the number 16s I want to discuss is our ACT scores are 2023 the ACT average was 22.4 which is incredible the state average is 19.2 and I am very pleased with our students performance AC tape we had a 100% graduation rate which is always something to celebrate and for those of you and I'm sure all of us are now aware of the 3rd grade retention law in Tennessee weed not have their great pretensions last year so we were very pleased like I said with all of our students successes and so we always have to thank our parents for all they do to help us each and every day to bring these successes our Focus for the 2324 school year student Readiness academic achievement in College and Career we talked about student yes we're talking about students that are showing up doing their work keeping up with your coursework and not just completing the course work but really mastering the information and said that's very important and so high school students will have gmsg learning coaches this year again and as learning coaches will help students keep up with their assignments work on their study skills and help answer questions that they I have we do an excellent job It Go keeping up with her student communicating with our parents reaching out to our students and in general just keeping a pulse on all of our students academic achievement we want every goal student to grow we want every gold student to be successful what does academic achievement look like it looks like scoring at or above the state average and we're always going for a boat academic achievement looks like our students having a graduate ready to plomo where they have had the opportunity to take advantage of advanced placement courses dual enrollment courses honors courses and even Middle School enrichment opportunities that's what I like College and Career this year our Focus every day College and Career focused really career-focused is our emphasis so as we learned to Pinterest we are going to be bringing in special speakers to speak to our students about their career interest we are planning to bring in a meteorologist this year we have set students that are interested in whether we are planning to bring in Professionals in the medical field to speak to our students because we have a lot of students that want to go into medicine that's very exciting and we also have several students that are interested and construction work more manual work and so we are going to reach out to business owners in the community and have them speak to our students about various careers because we want our students to be a lots of different career ideas and opportunities and so we will have frequent lunch-and-learns this year so that our students are aware of all the possibilities around our virtual call which two words are going to begin cranking up next month and so we have reached out to our seniors to hear where they want to go to college and so we are reaching out to those universities to speak with our students and show a great virtual tour parrots you are so important to what we do this year we're going to be bringing a parent reach connection that means that you are going to have time to out the year to come gather different times during the day I know for some people lunch is a good time for some people after work is a good times are coming finding different times during the year for our parents to come together and this will be an opportunity to exchange ideas what's working what can we improve upon the benefits that your child is saying you might have ideas for student life activity she might have ideas for a virtual career fair they're going to be looking at our parents and reaching out to them about just different ways that we can continue to grow our school something that makes gold special is the fact that every morning we have our morning meeting and so that is such special and important time for our students to literally see each other and Converse with each other so that is so important for our students we are super excited that on September 8th our seniors will have the opportunity participate in an in-person act workshop with UT Martin we have a UT Martin instructor that will be coming out and spending most of the day with our seniors and going through 80 review I'm sorry act review and with that the students will have the materials and they can use those materials to continue to prep for the upcoming act and in the spring we're going to do the same thing for our juniors something new and we're really looking forward to it and so is that now that you know all things great about goal at this point dr. Morrison is going to tell us a little bit more about Pearson Connexus we're going to do a little bit of Deep. night and you will have opportunities during our presentation to ask questions and so at this time dr. Morrison evening everyone just like that for I just said we're going to dive into the platform so that you can see that from my student perspective and from a parent's perspective which we call the parents of servers will see both of those platform if you will advance for me please Dr Fishman thank you stole my talk a little bit about what we all four so hear it. We pride ourselves and offering an easy-to-use online system that we call Pearson do that platform we offer hundreds of courses that are designed for career and college readiness individualized attention for your students and I'd only that but it's safe and secure in I meant for them. We also have a platform at an area just for you parents that have all types of resources that you can utilize that will assist you as you're helping her, just trying to learn more about the platform itself we can go to the next class so we're going to talk about our model and what Pearson stand behind the one thing I will tell you is that our model is Student Center we do take a student center dedication because our students are the top priority we believe it that is essential to providing students with that support as they are studying so therefore we have provided for you a curriculum we've also provided caregivers or as we call them parents or Guardians as we say them that are available to be a torch to providing students with assistance as their learning also you have if you look at this world that you see in front of you we have teachers which are available to provide that individualized instruction to encourage your students along the way and moreover we also have a platform which we've been talking about Pearson connected that will look at it in just a second glad we start looking at the synchronous support and what that looks like so students have access to an abundance of synchronous Support options including synchronous classes as you see listed here they also are able to have targeted small group intervention teacher time session and then also that teacher one-on-one now that teacher one-on-one will probably convenient less bright depending on the 4th but just to let you know that there are several different wonderful methods for students as they are trying to continue their learning and to improve their literacy we also do allow students in grades K through 12 to contact their teachers by appointment at any point do not talk now about what that synchronous and asynchronous learning will look like I left one before we move on. The picture of you. I didn't leave one off on there we do have that advisory teacher that's going to be down there I'm also for students in grades 6 to 12 my apologies for leaving that one out I was just so excited to talk about everything else to 12 students you do have that advisory teacher forever talking about the asynchronous and synchronous line as you see this model that here again I wanted to provide you with a model that you could see as we start thinking about students learning and add the on the computer and what does that look like in a synchronous environment do for your students in grades K through to you can expect anywhere between 30 to 40 minutes 44 or day again this is just an every area and every different School District may have different other options or you as a parent will also be able to look at this and make those modifications also in grades three through five you have you see this listed at 4 60 Minute for court for a day and then for students in grades six through 12 45 to 60 minutes for now that's it for that's the independent work when we start thinking about that stink face-to-face learning what does that look like per week so we can look at that for grades K through five anywhere between 8 and a half hours per week and for students in grades six through 12 look like 6 hours for a week so again just a model you guys are in control of what your students and how your students are working and what they're working on and how they're working Avatar talking about alcohol when we look at the information of the program one thing that I love to talk about when I talk about the Pearson program is that our program is it provide facts comprehensive and adaptive curriculum that's consistent with State Standards not only that but the Pearson program is an excellent alternative to the available traditional and homeschool curriculum now the only on learning Navarre Pearson Connexus is Design for Learning anywhere at anytime now to say all that I have to say this part of our curriculum is a highly effective alternative to that traditional curriculum it is intended to help students acquire knowledge and critical thinking skills not just for Ally but for work and for higher education also spoke to ensure that each student receptive of her potential we are providing structured lessons and self-paced learning at each grade level we take pride in preparing students for life and fostering the these are learning which include critical thinking and problem-solving communication skills creativity Innovation and collaboration so when we start thinking about the accessibility for all students what does that look like the we believe in equal access for all students regardless of their learning style they're still order disability our entire library is WIC hack 2.0 compatible now we believe in delivery technology that gives all students and equal opportunity including those with impairment such as cognitive learning problems the late fee or behavioral disabilities as well with leads up into talking about our platform itself so I'm now going to transition over into a platform so that you guys can see exactly what that looks like and as I do that I may go ahead and take over possible that The Weeknd the the information listed here a wreck it out Ryder forgive me I am a bun person who ever I am learning the Google world right now so I'm going to see which one I should choose their okay you are fine and I am in the right place all right what are you doing my screen you're a good so hopefully everyone is able to see my screen here and you're saying the information that where you login so when you are logging in you have a username and a password not just students what parent you also have that username or login I'm using a name and password to login but before we login I wanted to show you some information that support as your work let's say you have questions or you have technical issues or anything of that great nature cuz you're not having to go to misterwives for every single thing you can actually contact us support on this page is a phone number and there is an interactive support line that here so I wanted to point this out before we logged in so that you would know exactly where to go when you're trying to access any help again at the bottom of this login free do you have access to them as well as students you have access to this as well so I'm going to go ahead and log in now when I login you make me something different than I do now the reason why this particular screen has popped up as you see listed I'm not check this box to remember my choice so if I'm a student I would choose the student option if I'm a parent I would choose this Observer option that here know after I make sure to the after you before you do it you go ahead and you put this box I'm going to save your option so I'm going to go ahead and you'll notice that is going to bring me into my student platform the students this is what you'll see and parents when we transition into the parent a platform you'll see something that's very similar so as you're looking at this information the first thing that I like to point out is where I need to go to for help in the event I need it you do have a butt here that when you click on this but he's going to show you any knowledge base articles about anything dealing with Pearson Connexus that you have questions about so you can click here if it's if it's a let's say how progress is being you can actually click here and access that information parents you can click here and find resources that are going to just be for you that will be called observers resources and also you also in the platform where you can access that too that's one place that you can access information and also or help you can also go over here to the menu button beside the student at student and when you go all the way down at the bottom you will see Support Center also seek help here always like to point those out first in the event you do need help or support their also is another place that you can go to that will provide you with help as you're working through the program so what will happen if you are a K-5 students you will be able to access the orientation for K-5 student and if you are a 6 to 12 student you'll be able to access the orientation of course for your your grade as well I'm going to click in the K-5 so you can just see what it looks like when you click in this K5 orientation what you will see it will first give you just some information about the orientation you'll see a brief video that will walk you as you scroll down the page you then we'll be able to see activities that you can complete and this is going to cover everything that we're talking about today so if you've gotten anything that we talked about or if you have watching the video something just doesn't make sense to you you can go into this orientation and go through the Ahmad was that our fear and be able to see the activities and it will walk you through step-by-step how to find and how to do things so it's the same thing I'm going to put my back button here for your 12 student you have the same access all you have to do is click on your horse and start working so this would be the first place that I would go to even if I am a student has been in the program for a while just to refresh myself as I'm starting I was starting my orientation for us just to make sure that I know exactly where all the buttons are and where to go and how to maneuver myself go now. gotten all of that information out of the way I do want to pay close attention to these two icons that are up here so you have two icons they look very similar it looks like a flag with an! In It Business Journal Smith any announcements students that come from your District or from your teacher will be placed in the area of this is a place that you're going to want to go to the Sea announcement that are scared with you to accept the announcement doesn't matter if you go to this area or to this area when you click it will then bring up your now now as you see I have several announcements because I'm able to see all of the cord that I've been registered it but if I was looking for particular course or I'm sorry if I'm looking forward to going out so I can make sure that I'm going in and filtering the ones that I would like to see for each course list of here I'm going to click my button here and I'm go back to my home button and it brings me back to my main page here where I'm able to see all of my courses as you see indicated over here on the left hand side where in the course is tap directly beside where in the to-do list area this is going to show you anything that you have that is currently do so this is what you have to do so as you see listed it even tells me the items that are past due so I can work from this area beside the to-do list you also have the activity string what's going to show you any activity that has happened you can see that for all of the courses that you're registered in or you can simply choose just one corsets and it will show you the activity for that course if you would like to include your activity you can click in this box and it will also show you not just the activity for the course but it will show you any activities that you have also and for that course I'm going to transition back into my courses have over here I wanted to make sure that I showed you what each of these were before we dive into a course now you see your course is he these are all the courses that you are registered for now from these courses you're able to see the current score you're able to see your progress you're able to see your activities and you're also able to see the grades for this course so you have access to this information. This is looking at it from if you wanted to look at them individual court now when I go over to my menu tab over on the far left hand side and I click on my menu what you want stay here is you're also going to see the home button which will bring me back to this main landing page I'll see my notes area or if I need to take any notes it's going to be listed here I also have a mygradebook which will show me all of my grade for the current courses that I am enrolled in I'll see the announcement style which is going to be that same iconis up here but you I sent it from the menu button you able to see your Webmail this is where you will receive any messages from your teacher so I would make sure that I would check this area to see if any messages have come from or him also in this area I would like for you to know that you cannot message your peers the only person that you can message in your teacher no parents you also have access to the web mail when you see the Webmail you'll see read the messages that your students and your teacher have the teacher have been communicated back and forth so you also be able to access that webmail underneath the web mail you have a calendar when you click on the calendar student this is where you'll be able to see the calendar view and as you see listed I have one corset by checking that one course it's showing me for the month of August all of the activities that I have to complete for the mother box for this one. Let's say I wanted to see all of my courses I would simply go in and check the boxes for all of my courses and it will then show me all of the assignments that are due for all of my courses for the now if I wanted to skip ahead to September I can simply choose here in September to 8th and then it will also show me what do for September so the calendar is a great place for you to be able to do to to see the assignment that you have to work on and we're coming up so I'm going to click on tomorrow's date was June 25th and you'll notice for all of my courses for my AP course and for the orientation course I have assignments yet so I'm going to uncheck all of my courses except for my AP course so that you can see a clear view of it for this course you will see that this AP English listen Court deer you see the activities that I have to work on if I simply click here is going to take me to the activity where I'm able to complete that activity so I'm not having to go to somewhere different to access or the complete that assignment from the calendar I can simply click on that assignment and be able to complete that assignment here I'm going to go back to my menu. and this is where you also will have your life lessons you have the Student Activity Tracker and you have the check my work feature if you've never used the check my work feature is a great feature for you be able to use because it will allow you to see if any of your assignments have been plagiarized so what you would do as a student issues the court then you would type in the title of whatever Simon it is if you want to by clicking the file feature here able to search your computer for that file after you choose that file using will click on check my work what's it will then do it produce a originality report for you if the file is a very large file and may take some time for it to process so just give it a second but it will produce this originality report be and ended personality report what it will do is it will tell you how much of your report or your essay that you written as been plagiarized but gives you the opportunity to rework that assignment before you submit it to your teacher so I would ask you to use detect my work feature when at all possible to go back to my menu tab here and directly under check my work you have access to all of your core just as you would if you were clicking in that main Landing paid if I go back to the home app so I could click on the English course or I could click on my literature course that's here for my middle school stood I'm going to clip back on the home but and to go back to the home button it brings me back to the mainland and so now we're going to dive into a particular court student where do I go to complete an assignment let's say I'm in this literature course beer this middle school literature course you are going to notice for each of your courses that you have listed you'll see your current score you'll see the progress you'll see that play button with your tivities and you also see the great picture now there a couple of ways that I can access my assignments for this particular court I can either click on the course or I can click here on the play button on the court and as you click on the couch you will then see the teacher the course name right now I currently have my score hitting but if I wanted to like I said show that score I just put the I hear and it'll out for that information I'm also able to see the progress as you start looking at progress in the beginning you're probably noticing it's very low have no fear as you thought completing assignments and working through the program that price grass will grow so you do want to make sure the ad you're working through you're watching this progress and watching to see how it's growing for you also underneath this you want to make sure that you pay close attention to the area Direct underneath because this is the area where your teacher will ask important information pertaining to that course it could be ways to contact the teacher the teacher it could be at their office hours it could be any other resource is that they want to share with you so that we'll all be located in this area directly under the progress they'll as you start to go down you'll see any projects or any work that they may assign to you out died of what you have listed and this area you will see the activities which we're going to look at just a second and you'll see that to-do list that we talked about earlier so you able to see what you have to do when you get here you can either search for an assignment or when you first log in all of your folders will be closed and these folders are going to be units of work click on that greater than or less than looking symbols open up that area for you so that you can see the content that is within that folder and the content that is within that folder are your activities and climate that you need to complete so the first place that you want to look at it as a course home in the courts home is going to show you your resources and any material that you'll need for the court so when you put on course is going to show you hear the getting started area your course overview and your syllabus here so you're able to access this information and see exactly what you need to complete when I click the back button it takes me back and I'm able to access the materials for the court when I click on the materials here you're able to see a hyperlink which is going to be indicated in blue when you click on this blue or here I'm going to download your resources or materials for you so you'll be able to access the materials for the course for those are important areas to access before you even start into your assignment Ashley store looking at the information that I'm going to go into unit to buy click in it so now when I click on the fiction unit you will see here all of the assignment that I have to complete for this unit anytime that I complete an assignment it will be indicated by a green circle with a check mark so that lets me know that I've completed this assignment as I click in the introduction to novel what you'll notice this is an e l play assignment you will be able to see the reading here let's play I need some assistance with it as you noticed you have a text to speech option appear in the top right-hand corner no not all the time still have the text to speech but a vast majority of them will when you click on the text-to-speech icon you'll be able to choose the first option which will allow you to click anywhere and that information will read aloud you also have a allow this information to be rich you also and the pause button. But the world icon that was to hear it will allow this to be translated for you and another language if you needed also have icon that here where you able to get a dictionary definition and right beside that area if you're able to get a picture for a word and then you also have the ability to like contact so when I am going to shoes what I want and then simply click the color it didn't is going to highlight that information for me extra movie changes you simply click the sweeping feature it's going to ask you do you want to remove the highlights and you say okay and then it removed those highlights for you at any point if you need to change any of these options you can simply click on the wheel it's listed here and it won't allow me to change this settings for boys beef tip highlight speech mode and then also that translations feature that here after you made any changes you do want to make sure that you click the save button but it does say those changes this down a bit because of this is a Ela assignment you also have the English language connections here you also have a glossary and you have the ability to print this down to be able to have it in paper for also are able to see the target due date so this is good for you to know and to stay on track with your assignment but that is all in the text-to-speech and the icons that I'll be available to you and an assignment when you click on an assignment it brings me back to my area where I'm able to see all of my assignments and courses here parent you have the same access as students so everything that I just showed you have the same ability to access and see also I'm going to go over since I'm in this court to the menu button for this course when I put the menu button you'll notice to your you have your home button you have a place you can take note you have a great book for this course you have the announcement stab you have the Webmail you have calendar the live lessons feature you also have the Student Activity Tracker and that check my work feature what is coarse this is the course activities that we just looked at and you also have a great book for this particular course also stop I just wanted to see the grades for this great for this court I can simply just go to that course and click on the grade book you'll notice the icon is going to be here when I go back to the Home tab just that same icon is going to be replicated here now to see all of my courses in my grade I want to go back to my house button and then go back to home I just simply clicked on the house and now I'm going to access the Gradebook here when I click on the gray book you will be able to see student all of your courses you'll be able to your scores will be able to see the teachers progress the grade will progress and then your progress for all your of your assignment also able to print this information out the reason I wanted you to be able to see it from this way is that it gives you a view of all of your grades and from here you can simply choose the course that you want to click on to see the grade book for that course the one I clicked on that think of a course which is that middle school for that I've been talking about all evening I'm able to see the gray I'm able to see the dashboard for me what if Activity The Objective Mastery and bad so I'm going to a little bit about now from the few students your uncle able to see your score your teachers the schedule you're able to see the Great Hall activities that have been completed and then you're able to see how many of our all of your activities are completed you have the option of choosing to view this from the grading category or from the syllabus or so if you click on grading category you're able to see all of your quizzes are going to put this information in category for you you're able to see your post test your able to see your review test is just putting these in categories are you able to see it from this area but you're also able to see the score the status the submitted date and the target date let's say that I want to look at this information from the syllabus when I click on the syllabus order what it does is it puts same information but it puts it in the order that it would be in your syllabus but I'm also still able to see the score the status that submitted day and the target due date here so all regardless of one of these that I am able to see the same information the back under the grave tab when I click on the dashboard this is going to show me how I'm working in this course it's a replication of the information that's going to be listed here in the grades area when I click on for me this is going to show me any activities that have been assigned to me for my teacher this area would be anything like extra credit outside of what you saw when you saw those assignments listed under that cord beside the for me we have what if now what if is a tool that you can use student that will help you to see how you can improve your grade still currently as a student in this particular course my actual score is a 78.61 I'm seeing this and I know that I need to improve my grade I noticed here that I have a couple of other assignments that I have have to complete so let's look at this now what if everything the word what if I made a 90 on this quiz I made a 90 on the next Quiz remind me on the third grade with the year and a 90 on this forklift for starting from 9 fiction all the way down to Empress I went in and plugged in great here just to see if I was to make these grades on these quizzes what would my score then be if I click on the recalculate button and then we'll recalculate my score for me and show me that if I made a 90 on these for upcoming quizzes it will change my score from a 8 1.61 to 81.69 so this is a tool that I would suggest that you use a family as a semester starts coming to an end and you're trying to work on improving those great you also have activity tab hear what does activity tab is going to show you the activities that you have started to look at it's going to show you your start time and is also going to show you care how long you been in the axle so your teachers also are able to see how long you been in an activity so let's say you've gone and you completed an assignment and you didn't make a great great on that front your teacher can go to this active and see you logged in to zip a particular introduction to novel at 6:37 p.m. and you spent two minutes so I know how long you been in there so I can tell if your asked taking your time and completing assignments and actually putting forth the effort in the assignment is going to be assigned to you so I just say all that to say make sure that as you going to assignment you're working through the information that's there because we can see exactly what you're working on and how long you working in that particular area you also able to see the objective Mastery so this is going to show you any of objectives that you have mastered as you start complaining text ejected this bar here will start to fill up so again just like progress this will start to increase as you start to complete those objective and the last area that we have you're the badges so any badges that you've earned you will be able to see those badges there so when I go back and I'll show you exactly what a bad looks like you can see what one of the badges that look like here when I go into a bed is an Integrity bad that a student has her so you're able to see the badges that you earn in this particular area this is student this is what all you would see as you dive in so parents I'm going to take off student hat nails and put on my parents so what is it that I see as a parent when I login so parents your app is going to be called The Observer at you're going to log into exact same way when you login is going to bring you the screen and the reason it doesn't automatically bring you into the Observer app is because let's say you may have more than one student in the virtual program so you're able to choose your student here so I'm going to choose the student that and as I click on my students name you'll notice that that goes from to the students to The Observer app and now I'm able to see as a parent the same exact thing that my student was able to see able to see those announcement I have this help button here for me I'm able to also see list this year of courses that my student is enrolled in I'm able to see their score their progress and when I click on them activities but here I'm able to see the activities just as a student does if they're able to complete now I will say this this come up in a couple of seconds that I'm done before other parent if I click this area can I complete if I meant it will not allow you to complete the assignment when you click on the assignment as a parent is going to say you must be enrolled as a student to complete the assignment so just letting you know that is what will happen if you click on I want to be a planet that's what they're here for the student but you have access to all of the information that the student have for that cord here you have that information from the teacher and any of those assignments as a parent I can also click on that menu button and you see listed here I'm able to see the home app which will take me back to Gradebook the announcement the Webmail which is going to be messages that your student has received you also able to see the calendar the Student Activity Tracker and you have a special place because you have what's called our Observer resources so when you click on those observer-reporter it's going to open up a new tab are you and what all what are all the goodies that you get here before you even talked about the goodies I want to let you know that it opens up in a URL for you for your able to bookmark this page come back to it later but as you start looking at this we have 20 articles listed here that are all about getting started we have video tutorials and they're non articles that are round anything dealing with using health to lesson. we also have listed here helping your students to succeed their 17 articles that are just around this information here and this is all just for you parents so I would say bookmark this page that you can find it easily to be able to assist your student or even to yourself if there's more information that you would like to have access to this is all from the course and when I go back to my hometown and I go to this menu button I also have again the home button the Gradebook the announcement the Webmail the calendar that Student Activity Tracker those Abdul-Jabbar resources I would be able to see all of the courses that my students have access to I also have access to the support button and to the help with and I can probably easily between the students that I have a student Sonoma covered a ton of information but I'm sorry that I went as detailed as I was because that's what I wanted you guys to know exactly what you would see as you login even from the student to the parent wanted you to be able to be comfortable as your logging into the platform and be able to bring New Birth through and answer some of those questions that you may have to stop presenting now and I'm going to pass over to dr. Fisher hello yes welcome back everyone thank you so much for your attention Dr Morrison thank you so much for that deep dive and the Pearson I think that this is a fascinating program we use and every year I'm amazed the additional features that you add fantastic and so parents at this time if you have questions I'd love for you to meet your microphone and we will call on different parents I'm going to try to do first come first serve so bear with me Miss samaire yeah, I got your picture and everyone thank you guys very much for all this wonderful information one question I had are we still going to be able to check the grades on Skyward as well yes and for parents that are new what we do Pearson is where you check for your grades everyday you have access to those grades 24/7 in the sky world we upload those grades at the end of a quarter at different times of the year and so we always parents know when the sky when the grades have been added to Skyward the grades are automatically added to Skyward every day so if you want to see how your child is performing you need to check out Pearson when the time comes can you print a report card the portal will open in Skyward with your students grades and that's going to be what's going to show up for the older children their transcripts and like I said for the younger children for everyone play the report cards that answer your question yes thank you very much and we will be giving you more information as we get closer to that but right now the only thing you need to be checking is Pearson to keep with your child's progress great thank you great question another question that I frequently get in terms of keeping up with assignments it really is important for our students to keep up with their assignments what we have found is that when you get behind it's really easy to get behind because you're not keeping up with your and then before you know it you have a lot of work to get caught up on and that can be difficult and so what we're asking our students to do yes you have the semester in the course to complete the work but we're asking our students to do to keep up with when the assignments are due and that you're turning it on time you have 24 hours to turn in an assignment in Pearson after the due date so if it's due on August 24th you have until 25th before it shows up red there's a zero that indicates hey wait you need to do this so every assignment has a grace period of 24 hours and we I always tell you is that you have from Midnight to 11:59 p.m. to get to work in so that's plenty of time to fit your school into your life anyone else any other questions and we are recording so if you're asking a student specific questions we will have time at the end when I stop recording well okay yes this Burks good evening everyone my question is I've noticed when I'm doing some of the assignments I have two children one in kindergarten one in that sometimes there's a link the link is broken or there's a worksheet but it's not interactive how important are those things to actually completing the assignment because some things we are just kind of having to even verbally talk about or I'll have to skip over it because there's nothing either tangible for me to show them or like I mentioned the link is broken what I would do if we remember we talked in the very beginning if you do run into that issue you see those support that support an interactive line there if you do see that those links are broken reach out to support and let them know that those links are broken so they can fix that information because it may be where they've updated the system and some of the did not carry over but make sure that you reach out even if it's just like I'm the interactive afford to send them a message so that they notice that they can go in and fix that information because that shouldn't be happening definitely in the event that you do Allen to that please reach out to our contact after 4 so that they can fix that and then they'll even send you a document document or whatever you may need that is pertaining to that assignment so definitely make sure that you reach out to that support line 2 you shouldn't have to be I'm trying to find extra work to compensate for what's not there so definitely please reach out to Fort Lawn thank you you're welcome thank you so much for sharing that information with us and will be fall yep with you on that because we definitely want to know if there's an activity or an assignment that you are not able to access let's same as Westin hey so I have a question my son is a sophomore and so he's got that 10th grade English class and so a lot of the grammar activities you have to go into the writing with power textbook and do some things like I'm looking at one from last week there's some practice skills to do on different workbook different pages from that textbook did those get turned in if so how did those get turned in and then if they do how can he check his answers you're needed those assignments when he's working through and I don't have it right in front of me but when he's working through is there a submit button that there first thing that first I honestly do is to reach out to your teacher just to ensure that he hasn't missed any deadlines and to make sure that those assignments need to be turned in that will be first and I know you probably already done that but just to ensure that you know are all bases are covered I would do that and just because they may have a I have a different process of how they want those assignments to be turned in on how their second gold assignment or they're just looking at those apartments so I would definitely reach out to the teacher and find out exactly what their their method is and what they're actually using in that particular courts on how those assignments and those those activities are going to be graded or if they're graded at all so in my parent view some of the activity Icy Hot there blue there is a hyperlink but in those other activities there's not a hyperlink to that so I just like I said I kind of figured that it wasn't something to turn in I am not in his view I can't get to you right now but some of the activities do have those hyperlink but what I would do even though it's not that the iPhone link is in there with your work through it because it could be perhaps something that they are possibly maybe having to read that as they continue to get into a different a fine that information may have been useful for something down the road I'll Take Everything builds upon each other so it's that may not have been a great part of that assignment but it just may be filled up with that lead in to an apartment. I'll be coming later on yeah doctor Morris and answer we're going to say the same thing I did all she did say the same thing I was going to say mrs. Weston when he's doing his assignment if there's no submit button if there's no hyperlink those there's a silencer like there their hierarchical hierarchical their chronological order nope it's just something like what dr. Morrison said if it may just be reading a paragraph but if it gets the check mark on that number to Simon that's going to open up the future assignments weather today Westmont yes to upload something like that so we had to make sure he goes to that slide just like you're reading a page in the book you got to do every one of them thank you and something that we're doing we're having a Google meet so we're going with parents or students that are asking questions don't hesitate because this is something where we can set up a mini Google meet and just kind of go over that English 10 lesson and go over that practice sheet and look at and kind of walk you through the Pearson platform thank you yes I've been doing a lot of it today got it let Jenny the right questions and I love the fact that you are diving into this already and know so much at such an early time of the anyone else have any questions or comments well at this point this does conclude our meeting this evening we thank you so much for being here we will stay online for a few minutes I will stop according just in case you have any last-minute questions or something you want to share but at this point I will stop recording and I just want to thank dr. Morrison again for being here this evening thank you all for joining us you really appreciate your time and
