GOAL Graduate Student Spotlight: Anna Caroline Elmore

When Anna Caroline Elmore began her journey with Germantown Online Academy of Learning (GOAL), she was facing one of the most challenging seasons of her life. While recovering from two sports injuries and attending frequent physical therapy and doctor appointments, keeping up with traditional school became overwhelming and anxiety-inducing.

GOAL provided exactly what she needed—a flexible, supportive learning environment that allowed her to prioritize healing without sacrificing academic success. With guidance from Dr. Heather Fisher, Anna Caroline selected courses (including Dual Enrollment) that kept her on track for graduation. Clear expectations, written deadlines, and responsive teachers gave her the structure and flexibility she needed to thrive.

Through GOAL, Anna Caroline gained lifelong skills—time management, planning ahead, independence, and accountability—that prepared her well for college. Today, she is a Psychology major in the Honors College at the University of Memphis and has been invited to participate in psychology research alongside Dr. David Rudd—an opportunity she continues into her sophomore year.

For Anna Caroline, being a GOAL graduate means persevering through adversity with confidence and support. GOAL met her where she was, believed in her potential, and empowered her to succeed—academically and personally.

One of her favorite GOAL memories? Testing in person with Ms. Jodi and Dr. Fisher in a calm, supportive environment that helped ease her test anxiety and made her feel truly supported.

We are so proud of you, Anna Caroline, and can’t wait to see what the future holds!
