Student Spotlight: Roving Chef by Student Reporter Wyatt Tamboli

Written by GOAL student Wyatt Tamboli

Recently, students from Germantown Online Academy of Learning (GOAL) had the opportunity to step away from their screens and come together for an exciting in-person event called Roving Chef.

Roving Chef is a hands-on experience where students learn how to make different kinds of food while working side by side. At this event, we learned how to make smoothies. Using a blender, we mixed together a banana, milk, and blueberries to create a healthy and delicious drink. It was fun to see how simple ingredients could turn into something so tasty.

One of the best parts of the event was, of course, drinking the smoothies we made ourselves! It felt rewarding to enjoy something we created together.

I would definitely recommend Roving Chef to other students. It’s not just about learning to make food—it’s also a great way for students to socialize in person, talk, laugh, and connect with classmates they usually only see online.

What I like best about in-person GOAL activities is getting the chance to talk with my classmates, meet new people, and make new friends. Events like Roving Chef show that GOAL learning goes beyond the virtual classroom and helps build real-life connections, too.
